Brackets is a one-act play apx. 30 minutes in length, has a cast of four women, three men and a mime (some doubling) and is suitable for general audiences. This Easter program is set inside the garden tomb. Four women on a Holy Land tour discuss the events of the crucifixion and burial. A single man who has great doubts about his faith lingers after they leave and discusses faith with a caretaker. As the caretaker relates the events of crucifixion, lights shift and a capsulized version of the ministry of Christ is presented by a mime as the caretaker’s voice narrates. The modern-day women are now Salome, Mary Magdalene, etc. discovering the empty tomb for the first time.
